DEPARTMENT OF ANTIQUE FRAMES
Under the direction of Fabrizio Canto, the department deals with frames attributable to a period that spans the entire Renaissance, Baroque, 18th and 19th centuries.
Its staff awaits the study, cataloguing, evaluation and placement on the Italian and foreign markets of collector's frames for sale, both for the enchanting trade and in the form of private negotiation (private sale), the latter for pieces of particularly high economic and historical artistic value.
The department also offers a specialist appraisal service.
At the department there is always a selection of frames in various price ranges that can be purchased out of auction.
Following in the footsteps of Franco Sabatelli, Fabrizio Canto is one of the rare specialists of antique frames active in Italy. His book Frames. XV-XVIII century is a reference for the sector's collecting. From his Roman studio he has been providing consulting services for enthusiasts from all over the world for more than twenty years. He is also consultant and collaborator of the National Gallery in London.
