Coins and Medals

Headed by Joseph Bertolami, the department deals with coins and medals, following the history of numismatics in its development from its origins to the present day. Special attention is given to: Roman coins, Greek coins, Byzantine coins, medieval coins, modern coins, numismatic collections.

The main task of Giuseppe Bertolami's team is to study, catalog, evaluate and place coins and medals on the Italian and foreign markets on consignment, either for auction or in the form of private negotiation, the latter for pieces of higher economic and historical-artistic value.

In parallel, the department offers a technical-scientific consulting service and analysis and evaluation of objects of numismatic interest using the most advanced investigation techniques and machinery.

At the department there is always a selection of coins and medals of various price ranges that can be purchased out of auction.

The department takes scientific advice from experts in specific fields of numismatics.

A collector, numismatic expert and CTU at the court of Salerno, Pierpaolo Irpino has a long and articulate study experience in the field of numismatics. He directs, among other things, for the publishing house D'Amico Editore, the numismatic studies series "Il Tornese" and has numerous scientific publications to his credit.
