of circular form resting on a shallow stepped foot, the body marked by vertical ribs and a moulded rim; in the centre a marquis coat-of-arms composed of a "modern Samnite shield" with a crowned two-headed eagle in the lower field; a crown placed above the shield itself. Hallmarked by the guild of goldsmiths of Naples for a silver fineness of 833/1000, 1832-1872, and with the hallmark of an unidentified silversmith already found on a coffee service with the same hallmarks. (Ref. Elio e Corrado Catello, argenti napoletani page 145). Height x diameter 12 x 37 cm, weight 1890 gr. Item condition grading: **** good.
