A beautiful pair of table candle holders decorated with the typical iconographic repertoire of the Renaissance: mascarons connected by swirling vegetal patterns on the large circular base. Bobeche supported by a baluster-shaped vase adorned with acanthus leaves and dragon scales. The stem and the base are separate pieces connected by an internal pin.
Similar models are published in the catalog of Italian Renaissance small bronzes by Leo Planiscig. Particulary similar to a candle holder in the Louvre Museum, of the same measurements, attributed to the Paduan-Venetian school from the beginning of the 16th century.
