French center desk - 19th century, signed PAUL SORMANI

made of exotic wood, inlaid with various fine woods this desk mounts finely chiseled and gilded bronzes, entirely inlaid in every detail, painstaking work done by a great cabinetmaker of the 19th century, Paul Sormani. The top of the desk has such inlay that it looks like an oil painting. Plaque engraved with " PAUL SORMANI 10.r. Charlot Paris " placed in the center drawer.
