BATTLE SCENE, Coriolanus Master style? 15th century.
Ae oval plaquette; 60.3 x 48.7 mm; 75.7 g. Artificial green patina.
In the centre, a soldier with spear and shield about to strike another soldier with a plumed helmet; behind, a chariot with rider. On the left, another soldier in combat; below, a male figure lying down. In the exergue the scroll with writing BRO....? All within a smooth linear outline and a second thinner one. Interesting soldier's shield in relief depicting a centaur with a bow. Very late fusion.
