A silver Oil Lamp - Rome early 19th century, mark of DOMENICO MASOTTI

in cast, embossed and chased silver; circular base with perimetrical lanceolate leaf decoration, smooth shaft topped by four lion heads, two-mouthed oil tank with the same decoration as the base surmounted by a lid with acorn fastigium. Suspended from the tank are the tools for maintaining and extinguishing the lamp supported by chains. Rectangular fan shade.
Hallmarked with the chamber marks with tiara and decussate keys in use in Rome from 1815 to 1870 for 10 ounces and 16 denari (889/1000) and with the mark "D 124M within a lozenge" belonging to silversmith Domenico Masotti, son of Vincenzo.
Height x width x depth: 46 x 24.5 x 19.2 cm. Weight 650 gr.
Item condition grading: **** good.
