MAPPIN & WEBB: Art Deco brass alarm clock - 1930s

brass case, the front painted with four bucolic scenes: in the upper part a woman is depicted seated on a stone plinth together with three children, all immersed in the beauty of nature; in the left bezel is a woman intent on tending flowers and plants, in the mirror one a man engaged in horticulture.
The central scene encloses the dial of the clock with Roman numerals, signed Mappin & Webb - Rome - 8 days: it depicts a man and a woman dancing gracefully among the natural elements, while a third character plays a wind instrument to accompany them in their dance.  Signed on the reverse side "METAL DORÉ - DÉPOSÉ" quoting serial number 3917.

Item condition grading: **** good. The watch appears to be in working order but may need an overhaul.
