Silver plaque with Holy Family and Saints, Rome, early 19th century

Height x width x length: 24.5 x 21.5 x 0.5 cm. Weight 1150 g.

Cast and chased silver, rectangular in shape, depicting the Holy Family with saints; on the left side of the scene is Saint Elizabeth in the guise of an imperial lady, caught in the act of embracing and kissing the Infant Jesus held in the arms of the genuflected Virgin; on the right side is Saint John holding a sheep and behind him, Saint Anne and Saint Joachim.
Hallmarked with the Chamber's marks with the Triregno for silver at 10 ounces and 16 denari (889/1000) fineness in use in Rome in 1808-1809 and with the import mark for minute work in use during the French occupation (?).

Item condition grading: ***** excellent.
