Fudo Myoo is a Buddhist deity, protector of wisdom and unshakable defenders of faith and the treasures of doctrine. The most common iconography of him is the one represented in this sculpture, with the sword symbolizing knowledge and submission and the lace that immobilizes the enemies of the faith and at the same time restrains the devotees.
