Her artistic research focuses on drawing and the study of the human figure. "I started, as children often do, with markers and pencils; I then tried to understand the use of oil paint and experimented with acrylics. I changed many media from paper to cardboard, from canvas to wood, from cloth and recycled materials to plastic. I have researched and experimented a lot, even with a hint of impatience, probably due to my impatience to find my expressive balance. It was only recently that I discovered oil pastels and their capacity for layering and strength in vivid colours. So I made several attempts and finally found that with paper and smooth canvas they are a winning combination." (Valeria Magini)
