Andrea Sostero was born in 1978 and graduated from the Accademia di Ripetta in Rome. His work focuses on sculpture and painting. His works are not exhaustive at first glance. His compositions activate, through a complex system of oppositions, a kind of unreeling in the observer. His formal universe refers to the liminal territories between the fields of the figurative and the abstract, the symbolic and the real, the palpable and the impalpable. Sostero paints in oil on canvas and iron panels. Precisely on the latter, the alterability of the support projects the work in a continuous becoming. The result is the production of imaginary and organic subjects fused in an interscalar of forms that conceal themselves by offering themselves to continuous reinterpretation.
