French silver coffee pot, Paris, 1798-1809

plain ovoid body with noble crest resting on three ferine feet and oak leaf upper attachment, tapered neck with moulded pourer and zoomorphic spout. Hinged lid with pinecone grip, ebony handle. 950/1000 silver, hallmarked with the marks for silver at the first standard in use in Paris from 1798 to 1809, with the unofficial hallmark used by the Association des Orfévres in Paris for a silver fineness of 950/1000 "head of a Greek woman with letter P" and with the silversmith's initials N.T.C. for Nicholas-Théodore Cailliez.

Item condtion grading: **** good, signs of use commensurate with use over time.
