Silver Papal State wax jack, Rome, 1801-1803

Height x diameter: 14.5 x 7.2 cm. Weight 290 g.

Circular foot on which is fitted the body decorated with lance-shaped leaves at the base and running dogs on the upper rim; strongly duomed lid with upper hole for the wax. Hallmarked with the chamber marks in use in Rome from 1801 to 1803 for a silver fineness at 10 ounces and 16 denari (889/1000) and with the silversmith's mark of Carlo Silvestri.

Item condition grading: **** good, minor signs of use commensurate with use over time
