Large silver and cloisonnè enamel egg, Russian manufacture (?) 20th century
Height x diameter: 12 x 8.5 cm, height with base 14 cm. Total weight 423 g.
gilt silver, openable with plug-in closure, decorated in polychrome with flowers and foliage, standing on a tripod support with vegetal scroll feet surmounted by two-headed eagles.
Hallmarked with apocryphal marks in use in San Petersburg from 1908 to 1917 for a silver fineness of 84 zolotnik (875/1000), silversmith Pavel Ovchinnikov.
