Large silver and polychrome enamel egg, Russian manufacture (?) 20th century
Height x diameter: 14.5 x 9 cm, height with base 16 cm. Total weight 514 g.
Gilt silver, openable with plug-in closure, divided into six vertical sections decorated in polychrome with with vegetal motifs alternating with three Russian imperial eagles, resting on a tripod stand with claw feet. Hallmarked with apocryphal marks in use in Moscow from 1896 to 1908 for a silver fineness of 88 zolotnik (916/1000), assayer Yakov Nikolayevich Lyapunov, silversmith Carl Fabergè.
