rectangular openwork base with palmettes motifs on four with lion's head and ferine paw ends; two cut glass bottles on openwork supports with the same decorations as the base alternating with classical figures among laurel wreaths. Central handle with lyre-shaped shaft. 950/1000 silver, hallmarked with the marks for silver at the first standard in use in Paris from 1809 to 1819, with the unofficial hallmark used by the Association des Orfévres in Paris for a silver fineness of 950/1000 "head of a Greek woman with letter P" and with the silversmith's initials A.M for Ambroise Mignerot.

Item conditions grading: **** good, signs of use commensurate with use over time.  Ther are three bottle stoppers; one of them probably original, the others still antique but to be measured.
