Magnificent photo of Gino Bartali, with dedication and signature in black ink.
The photo portrays the winning champion of the 1936-37 Giro d'Italia wearing the race jersey, with a shield with a fasces sewn onto his chest. An image with Bartali at the time of the twenty years of fascism is very rare, also considering what the runner did during the period of deportation of Italian Jews to Germany.
Dedication and signature are handwritten by Bartali. Dated 19/6/15 (1937)
