The most famous of the puppets is Orlando, a strong and loyal knight. Decorated in a red dress, he holds the durlindana, a characteristic curved sword, and is protected by a shield and a helmet depicting an eagle. Height 120cm.

From the collection of Sicilian puppets, specifically of the Opera dei Pupi of Catania tradition, collected by the Hon. Lombardo Nino, whose desire was to share this cultural tradition with young people, thinking about opening a Puppet Museum in Paterno '(Catania), an initiative which unfortunately he was unable to complete.

The Puppets presented here at auction were made by the craftsman Salvatore Pulvirenti of Aci Platani, have a body structure made of cypress wood (more resistant to woodworms) and are covered with fine fabrics. They each have a metal base, have a height of approximately 120 cm, plus the crest, and weigh approximately 20/25 kilograms. The armor is made of brass, embossed by hand.
