Booklet commemorating the flight over Trieste on 7 August 1915, carried out by Gabriele D'Annunzio (mechanic) on a seaplane piloted by Giuseppe Miraglia. To incite the people of Trieste and challenging the enemy air force and the Austro-Hungarian anti-aircraft, the aviators carried out two rounds over Trieste, dropping bombs on the Maria Teresa arsenal and leaflets signed by D'Annunzio himself which read:
ยซ Courage brothers! Courage and perseverance! To free you as soon as possible, we fight breathlessly. In Trentino, in Cadore, in Carnia, on the Isonzo, we are gaining ground every day. There is no enemy effort that is not broken by the valor of ours. There is no impudent lie that is not deflated by our bayonets. We have already taken twenty thousand prisoners. In short, the entire Karst will be conquered. I tell you, I swear to you, brothers: our victory is certain. The Italian flag will be planted on the large Arsenal and on the Colle di San Giusto. Courage and perseverance! The end of your martyrdom is near. The dawn of our joy is imminent. From the heights of these Italian wings that the brave Miraglia leads, I throw this message and my heart to you as a pledge. I Gabriele D'Annunzio.
