"ITALIANS the threatening resurgence of the clericals and the audacity with which the Vatican condemns and reviles every manifestation of our political and civil resurgence, have awakened in Italians the awareness of their duties. The people's protest responds unanimously to those provocations: the Italy does not sleep! Therefore the anniversary of September 20th was celebrated with extraordinary solemnity; therefore the word of the King which summarizes the popular will reaffirms Rome as intangible for the Fatherland; therefore the purpose of the patriotic societies to splendidly commemorate the most glorious day of Mentana. ..> "
