Totò

Hat/Sweatshirt belonging to TOTO', 1940s/50s.

Provenance: cabaret artist Mario Di Gilio, a great friend of Totò, to whom he gave this boater and one of his bowler hats, the latter was then returned/donated to Liliana De Curtis. The boater was donated to the owner of the collection in question on the same occasion.

Inside there are the letters ADC embroidered in red thread on a black fabric tag. Manufacturer Tesi, Florence – Fratelli Viganò, Rome. The boater in question is almost the same as the one worn by Totò in the photo signed in 1919, also up for auction.
