Triptych of photos of LILIANA CASTAGNOLA, Totò's lover from the 1920s.
Liliana Castagnola was a soubrette, dancer, singer and femme fatale, who achieved her success touring all over Europe in the mid-1920s and killed herself in Naples in 1930 due to the troubled and not completely requited love, which had begun months earlier, for Totò.
Totò carried her remorse forever, so much so that he gave her name to her only daughter.
