made of cobalt blue glass with hand-painted, gilded decoration. The bell-shaped top is painted and decorated with Renaissance-inspired portrait busts in the form of a medallion of a courting couple in two separate medallions, amidst scenes of a procession of courtiers on horseback and maidens bathing in the fountain of love and youth, on a trumpet foot with gilded scrollwork. This design is based on the original wedding cup, made in Murano by the Barovier family of glassmakers around 1470-80. The original is on display at the Murano Glass Museum.
