A French bronze mantel clock depicting Cupid and Psych, Late 18th - early 19th century

Height x width x depth: 80 x 25 x 50 cm.

case with yellow Siena marble and gilded bronze base, surmounted by the figure Psyche in the act of crowning Cupid in patinated bronze, iconography taken from the model by Claude Michallon (1751-1799); circular dial with Roman numerals signed "Ledure Bronzier Hémon", movement with wire suspension, pendulum regulator and bell striking the hours and half-hours. Claude Hémone and Pierre Victore Ledure, both active in Paris between the end of the 18th century and the first half of the 19th century.
