Solid silver and wooden crucified Christ

Solid silver Corpus Christi, placed on an ebonized wooden cross with silver finials, cartouche, and passion symbols.
The figure of the Saviour is studied anatomically; the arms are outstretched, the musculature and venous system are highlighted; tthe hands are slightly half-open and the nails inserted in the centre of the hand. The head has the crown of thorns and is folded towards the right shoulder, facing upwards; the soft hair falls to the shoulders, the eyes are open and turned towards sky. The legs of the Crucified Christ are positioned crossed and slightly bent forward, the feet are slightly overlapped and nailed together. The intimate parts are covered by a loincloth with a side drape.
At the top of the cross, separated from the figure of Christ, there is a cartouche with the Titulus Crucis I.N.R.I. (Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudeorum, which literally translates to 'Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews'). In the lower part of the cross is the figure of the Dove of the Holy Spirit with a triangular halo, symbol of the Trinity.
Hallmarked on the Christ, cartouche and finials with the marks in use by the goldsmiths' guild of Naples from 1808 to 1824 for 834/1000 silver objects, represented by the "head of Parthenope shown in front" followed by the number 5 and on the Dove with the mark in use by the goldsmiths' guild of Naples from 1824 to 1832 for silver objects of 10 ounces fineness equal to 833/1000 and 1/3 rappresent by the “head of Parthenope shown in profile with the number 8".

Item condition grading: **** good.
The Crucified Christ is in a good state of preservation with the normal wear and defects commensurate with its age and use over time.
