Double bass designed by Alexander Hohenegger and Daniele Ponteggia, hand decorated by Yago Salina
The musical instrument was born from the idea of Alexander Hohenegger, a cellist from Rome, founder of the company "Alter Ego", which deals with the customization of musical instruments according to one's needs.
The materials used are top quality: selected spruce for the soundboard and seasoned maple for the neck, as well as ebony for the fingerboard and tailpiece.
The lot presented at auction is the Figaro Baby model, hand-decorated by Yago Salina; in this electric version the double bass has, in addition to the neck with strings and sound sensors, some elements easily applicable to the central body that reproduce the shape of the double bass body, in the three points of contact with the body. Equipped with an electronic pre-amplification set-up, the instrument is also robust and transportable.
