Portrait of Olimpia della Ciaja Chigi

cm. 120x90. Framed
The protagonist can be identified with certainty as Olimpia della Ciaja (1614-1640), Augusto Chigi's first wife, thanks to the portrait, also attributed to Giovanni Maria Morandi, now in the Museo del Barocco Romano in the Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia, which is part of a series of paintings probably commissioned to the artist by Agostino I Chigi.
