Tullio Pericoli is an artist known worldwide for his portraits of writers and men of culture, but he is also a great landscape artist. He was born in 1936 in Colli del Tronto, a small village in the province of Ascoli Piceno, and from an early age he loved to draw, so much so that he began collaborating with various local newspapers. He enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the behest of his family, a course of study that he did not feel was his own and that he abandoned at the age of twenty-five, moving to Milan where he established himself as a painter and draughtsman. From the 1970s, he exhibited his works in Milan, Parma, Urbino and Ivrea and began collaborating with the magazine ‘Linus’, with the ‘Corriere della Sera’ and with ‘L'Espresso’.
