Andrea Ventura is an extraordinarily successful illustrator in the United States where he has resided for twenty years. He has created images for the covers of major American magazines and won the prestigious Gold Medal of the American Society of Illustrators.
At the same time, he pursued important, though lesser-known, research in the field of art, drawing iconographic inspiration from his work as an illustrator and focusing only on certain themes, probing deeply into his personal feelings and memories. His wanderings have now taken him to Berlin, but Andrea Ventura's human and artistic roots are firmly anchored in Italy. Gifted with a natural inclination for pictorial expression, his language is lyrical in its images and totally free and spontaneous in its gesture.
