Worn front hinge with partially detached cover. Water and humidity marks and stains on the upper margin of the papers. Title page printed in red and black with copperplate mark (noble coat of arms) of Domenico Miserotti (19th century), numerous headers, initials and end caps with copperplate engraved vignettes.
Old original edition of 1738 (the first 1680) printed in Rome by Girolamo Mainardi. With 75 chalcographic plates in total in the text and outside the text, by the engravers Pier Santi and Francesco Bartoli (c. 1635-1700). Text and notes by Giovanni Pietro Bellori (1613-1696) and Michel-Ange de La Chausse (1660-1724).
