Format in-8ยฐ, mm. 185x120, pp. xvi, 526, (2). Contemporary half-vellum binding with corners, handwritten titles on the spine (faded), marbled edges of the pages. Printer's mark on the front. (Double-headed Phoenix). Italian text. Numerous epigraphic texts in Latin. Good state of preservation, with light browning and sporadic foxing.
Second edition printed in Venice in 1793 by the Baglioni printing house, augmented with an appendix (c. Ee3), at the end a letter (To the Countess Adelaide) by the paleographer Scipione Maffei (1675-1755) about the inscriptions on the medals. Work of the Italian historian and priest Francesco Antonio Zaccaria (1714-1795). Zaccaria was a prolific author, he composed more than 100 works in an uneven style (more cultured in Latin than in Italian), but lively; among which those of erudition are of greater importance.
