2 works bound in a single volume, by the Italian exorcist Girolamo Menghi (1529-1609). In-8ยฐ, mm. 165x110, pp. 251, (21), 320, (10). Contemporary binding in full parchment. First work missing leaves A1 (Frontpage) and A2. Small loss of text on f. A3. Stains and sporadic foxing. Old handwritten notes in the text. Woodworm work on the endpapers. Missing parchment on the back cover and part of the spine. Text within a frame, woodcut capital letters and headpieces.

Sixteenth century printed in Macerata in 1580 (in the colophon: Maceratae. Apud Sebastianum Martellinum 1580. Ad instantiam D. Baptistae Mancini Maceratensis). First work with text in Latin, on the reverse side. A4 woodcut depicting Jesus on the cross.
Second work with Italian text, preserved frontispiece, title: Compendium of the art of exorcism, and the possibility of the miraculous and stupendous operations of demons and malefics. With appropriate remedies for bodily infirmities. A work no less enjoyable for exorcists than delightful for readers, brought to light by common use again. In Macerata, by Sebastiano Martellini, at the request of M. Battista Mancini of Macerata, 1580. Woodcut (Mary holding Jesus) on the verso of A7. The last 10 index cards are missing (V7, V8, X-X8).
