Original folio edition of the historical treatise by F. Guicciardini (1483-1540), printed in Florence with a large typ. (Medici coat of arms surmounted by a crown, in an illustrated frame) engraved in wood on the frontispiece; with the portrait applied to the recto of the last leaf, finely engraved initials with woodcut decorations in the text. The work recounts in sixteen books the main events that occurred between the death of Lorenzo the Magnificent (1492) and of Pope Clement VII (1534). Complete, with restored frontispiece, slight oxidations, stains and marginal restorations on the final leaves.
