Contemporary full leather binding with 5 ribs, titles and decorations in gold on the spine. Trimmed margins, spray cuts (faded). Defects and light peeling on the boards and spine. Woodworm damage with small losses of text from p. 543 to p. 568. Old restoration on f. Aaaa2. Browning and sporadic foxing. Tear on plate 7 and p. 181, with small loss of text. Second edition, which for the first time unites Kircher's two imaginary journeys, through space and on earth. The astronaut Theodidactus (Kircher) is accompanied by the angel Cosmiel over the moon, the planets and the stars and is thus introduced to the whole of contemporary astrological and cosmological knowledge.
