Format in-8ยฐ, mm. 170x115, cards (8), 242, (1). Later binding (20th century) in half parchment with handwritten titles on the spine. Decorative paper boards. Cards from B1 to D2 (from c.1 to c. 18) with defects and small loss of text (bitten upper corner). Light stain of water drop on the upper margin of the first 8 cards. Sporadic foxing. Notes and underlining in old ink in the text. Old stamp on the title page. Italian text, Roman italics. Handwritten title on the lower edge.

Printed in Venice in 1539 for Luigi Torti (in the colophon: In Venetia per Alouise de Torti), with 5 woodcuts outside the text plus a double-page map of Spain. Portrait of Julius Caesar in woodcut on the frontispiece. Famous work of the Roman dictator in a sixteenth-century edition, translated into Italian by the humanist Agostino Della Porta Ortica Genovese.
