Format in-4ยฐ, (28), 793, (3), 59, 168. Complete. Elegant contemporary full leather binding with 5 ribs, gold titles and decorations on the spine. Sprayed edges on the leaves. Small defects and losses on the spine, with slight peeling. Good copy with clear text, sporadic foxing and light browning. Copperplate frontispiece engraved by L. Moreau, on the frontispiece woodcut brand with motto: Felix si culta Minerva. Woodcut initials and tailpieces.

Edition ad usum delphini printed in 1680 for Antoine Callier, with the epigrams in 15 books of the ancient Roman poet Marcus Valerius Martialis (c. 41 AD - 104 AD), commonly considered the most important epigrammatist in the Latin language.
