The wealthy and cultured Genoese merchant GD Peri wrote this treatise, “one of the most interesting works on banking techniques” (Riccardi), basing it on his considerable personal experience. The various parts form a complete repertoire of mercantile and banking techniques, with interesting information and useful advice on accounting, law, correspondence, negotiations and more. Five parts with their own frontispieces bound in 1 volume, a large typ. mark on each frontispiece. (Sailing ship at sea with sails unfurled, in an illustrated frame), refined initials with woodcut headpieces and tailpieces in the text. On the recto of the second leaf, sealing wax with the initials FV within a tripartite cross surmounted by a patriarchal cross. Fresh copy with slight foxing on a few leaves, internal hinges a little loose.
