Latin text with initials, headers and end caps. Title page partially detached, with defects. Light water stain on the upper margin of the first 8 leaves. Finally, a handwritten index in old ink on 8 leaves. The Consolation of Philosophy is a treatise by Severinus Boethius on fortune, death and other questions, which became one of the most popular and influential works of the Middle Ages.
