Old edition of 1634, printed in Bologna by Giacomo Monti and Carlo Zenero, work of the French writer Jean-Pierre Camus (1584-1652), author of over 200 works of various genres, including about forty novels, including love stories. He thought of turning the novelistic genre into a tool for Christian edification. (Treccani)
