A comprehensive work on the ancient Roman buildings in the city of Rome, first published in 1612 with 99 plates and subsequently reprinted in the following decades with varying contents (see the full description of Ashby's editions). The plates show reconstructions of the various buildings and gardens, restoring them to their "ancient splendor".
