Marbled paper boards. Copy with binding detached from the body of the volume, signs of adhesive tape on the internal margins of the first 3 leaves (first 2 detached) and on the colophon. Defects on the spine and front hinge. Sporadic foxing, small marginal tear on the second leaf (preliminary discussion).
Old original edition of 1846, printed in Rome by Giovanni Gallarini. Guide to Rome composed by Erasmo Pistolesi (1770-1860), in the preface a folding map of the city of Rome composed especially for this edition (1846) by Filippo Troiani from Rome. Edition with 7 plates engraved outside the text, titles: Roman Forum, Interior of St. John Lateran, Interior of St. Mary Major, Piazza di Monte Cavallo, Interior of the Pantheon, Gate of St. Paul and Interior of St. Peter in the Vatican, by the engravers Domenico Amico (c. 1808-1873?) and Gaetano Cottafavi (19th century) for the plate on the frontispiece.
