D'Annunzio Gabriele (1863-1938), autograph letter, 1927

Beautiful letter of three sheets on headed paper with SEMPER ADAMAS logo - FIRST NAVAL SQUAD - THE COMMANDER. The letter is in a contemporary frame, divided into three sections. Original, autographed by the Poet, black ink with red ink motto VIM VI on the left side of the third sheet. The text reads "My dear comrade, and fellow countryman, you have seen how the beautiful and sincere and sagacious strength of your young squad, today, up there, on that Dalmatian altar which is the great prow of the bloodied and unavenged Ship, you have seen how little by little it calmed my deep anguish, after having spoken of my martyrs, and my dead.
