Very rare flyer signed by UMBERTO II, dated May 9, 1946, on the occasion of his accession to the throne as successor to Vittorio Emanuele III who had just abdicated at the end of the Second World War. Printed on light paper which reads as follows "ITALIANS - My August Parent, carrying out the purpose expressed for over two years, has today abdicated the throne in the confidence that this act of His may contribute to a more serene evaluation of the national problems in the imminent peace. - In assuming as King those same powers that I already exercised as Lieutenant General, I am fully aware of the responsibilities and duties that await me ... ed. ..."
