A pair of Italian silver salt cellars, Milan 1812-1872

Height x width x depth: 9.4 x 8 x 8 cm; Total weight: 773 g.
of circular form of Empire line, column-shaped shaft with a putto supporting the circular basin with gilded interior and perimeter palmette decoration; resting on a circular base with three leonine feet.

800/1000 silver, hallmarked with the marks in use in Milan, Lombardy-Veneto between 1812 and 1872 and with the mark of silversmith Emanuele Caber, active in the Contrada of San Michele al Gallo until 1850, the year of his death.
