English Victorian sterling silver inkwell, London, 1839

Total gross weight: 680 g. Net weight: 500 g. approx.
Shaped oval, the rim with floral and foliate ornaments continuing on the four feet; fitted with three cylindrical supports on which a sand container is grafted in the centre flanked by a pair of ground glass ink containers, each with lids. Engraved with dedication dated November 1865.

Sterling silver, hallmarked with the marks used in London in 1839-40.
