Italian Art déco silver and ivory tray, 1930s

Height x width x depth: 5.7 x 73.3 x 45.1 cm. Weight: 2951 g.
of shaped form with side handles made of sperm whale or orca ivory (Physeter Linnaeus, 1758 or Orcinus orca, Linnaeus, 1758).
The design is characterised by elegantly shaped edges, embellished with a double edging that emphasises the harmonious structure and gives depth to the profile. Along the edges are incisions with foliate scrolls.

800/1000 silver, hallmarked "800".
