Russian silver and niello beaker, Mosca 1866

Height x width x depth: 8.5 x 7.5 cm. Weight: 103 g.
cilindric shaped, engraved body decorated with stylised geometric and floreal motives worked in niello, framng two scenes depicting two landscapes.

Hallmarked with the multi-purpose hallmark for silver at a fineness of 84 zolotniks (875/1000) in use in Moskow in 1866, assayer assaggiatore Viktor Vasilyevich Savinky.
Literature:
Master silversmith unknown; a niello beaker with the same mark is displayed in the State Historical Museum.
