Solid silver scroll holder, 19th century

Height x width x depth: 28 x 6.5 x 6.5 cm. Weight: 500 g.
Cylindrical in shape, featuring alternating longitudinal sections - some smooth and others repoussรฉ and chased with floral motifs - and fitted with a push-fit closure.
In Asia, scroll holders were decorative and functional objects, used historically to hold and protect parchments, official documents or sacred texts.
