Gilded silver, consisting of a rectangular tray with beaded edges in a classical style and shaped corners resting on four clawed feet with winged motifs, typical features of 19th-century English craftsmanship; a central container resting on three hoof-shaped feet with a fluted body, lateral handles, an upper ovolo molding, and a highly domed lid with a flame-shaped finial; two smaller containers flanking the central piece, echoing the decorative style and harmonious proportions of the entire set.
Sterling silver, fully hallmarked with silver marks used in London, 1864-65; silversmiths Stephen Smith & William Nicholson.
